Oxygen’s general manager of sales makes SAP top 10 ‘most influential’ list
Each year independent SAP industry magazine, InsideSAP, calls for nominations for people whom the SAP community feels have significantly impacted an SAP project which is defined as “greenfield or bleeding edge by nature”.
Kruger says he credits his recognition as the fifth most influential person in the SAP space to the strong relationships he has built with Oxygen customers since joining the company in 2008. He drew on his 13 years of experience in the SAP space to lead his team through the economic downturn without losing a single customer to a competitor.
“It’s because of the relationships and the approach we have with people, says Kruger. “It’s not about bending over backwards for a customer – it’s about being open, honest and trustworthy.”
In 2009 Kruger was involved in a number of large Oxygen project’s including an integration project for National Foods, the amalgamation of two federal agencies into the department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, and a major SAP upgrade and business improvement project for Carter Holt Harvey. He was also involved in an SAP project for LinkWater, which was honoured by the Queensland Government as one of the State’s best run projects.
Kruger says the acquisition of 10 new customers despite the uncertain economic climate as his biggest achievement in 2009. “The key was to keep the momentum going and continue to build. The important thing was to keep talking to customers and to do some value-added services so that they could see that they were going to get a return,” he says.
