Oxygen undertakes further SAP implementation work for Australian Federal Government
Oxygen’s general manager of sales, Phil Curtis, says DEEWR is a new agency formed by a merger of two former departments – both of whom Oxygen has been engaged by previously.
“The Department of Education, Science and Training have now merged with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. DEEWR has asked us to work on its upgrade to SAP ERP 6.0 and has also engaged us to complete an enterprise application integration project.”
Curtis says Oxygen has recently commenced a greenfields implementation of SAP ERP 6.0 at the Department of Finance and Deregulation in Australia, a central agency responsible for advising on and implementing key Government priorities. The project will replace a legacy financials application with state-of-the- art Enterprise Service-Oriented architecture (ESOA) from SAP and enable the automation of new processes.
Other new assignments include work analysis and pre-separation consulting for Alinta, on behalf of Babcock Brown Infrastructure, one of Alinta’s new owners, and additional implementation work enabling SAP business intelligence functionality for Powerlink Queensland.
“We continue to implement the SAP BI 7 system across Powerlink’s business. Currently we are engaged in rolling it out to their project services team and hope to complete further implementations for their HR and project management departments in the future.”
Oxygen is currently implementing a customer relationship management system at Visy, and a SAP Business Intelligence solution at OneSteel.
“Our other significant activity for January was a re-engagement by Rio Tinto, who continue to select Oxygen as the preferred SAP implementation partner for its Aligned Business Systems project.”
