Oxygen recruiting SAP professionals to work from home
May 22 2008 | Media Release
The ongoing growth of Oxygen’s Application Management Services (AMS) group has opened the way for it to grow its remote consultant workforce, and AMS Manager Max Preece says Oxygen is making it as easy as possible for people to enjoy the freedom and flexibility of working from home.
“As one of Oxygen’s remote access consultants you choose when you work, and how much you want to. So whether you're keen on 14 hours work a week or 40, it's a way of working that suits your needs.”
Preece says the only preliminary requirements are that home workers have a good level of SAP expertise – across both functional and technical areas and a reliable broadband connection.
“We are presently recruiting for roles across our whole AMS support base in Australia and New Zealand. Anyone who has technical expertise pertaining to Basis and NetWeaver would be considered, as would anyone with functional knowledge of the new SAP dimension products, such as Portal and Business Warehouse.”
Preece says Oxygen provides all the other necessary tools the remote access consultant would need to operate from home including a laptop, cell phone, printer and fax.
“All consultants can remotely access our internet based, knowledge management portal which provides the necessary support documentation and they can access customer systems via our own secure network. Based on a person’s particular expertise, we train them up in the specific business processes relevant to that area and they are assigned support tasks by our queue manager.”
Our experience has shown that the remote working model is particularly suited to semi-retired people, primary care-givers and those who choose to live in rural areas but who don’t wish to commute into the cities, says Preece.
“There are a variety of reasons for people choosing to work from home and these range from purely lifestyle choice through to physical disabilities which prevent people from working in a traditional office environment.
“We have a number of mothers who work for us between the hours that they drop the kids at school and pick them up again. They find it an ideal way to achieve a good work-life balance while maintaining their SAP skills to the highest standard.”
Oxygen is currently recruiting remote access consultants throughout Australia and New Zealand. For more information about Oxygen’s remote access consultant offering, please contact: info@oxygenforbusiness.com or we invite you to visit the Oxygen 'lounge room' at http://www.workingyourway.co.nz
