Oxygen partners with Sybase to provide SAP ‘on the move’ to customers
Oxygen CEO Mike T. Smith says the agreement will see Oxygen and Sybase working together to bring mobile SAP solutions to its Australia and New Zealand customers.

Sybase is an SAP company that has a range of technologies including an enterprise-grade, highly scalable mobile device management solution that supports a wide range of platforms including Windows® Mobile, BlackBerry®, Palm®, Symbian™, Android™, iPhone® and iPad®.”
Smith says Oxygen is responding to the growing consumerisation of IT and thirst for mobile applications by providing customers with the necessary building blocks to bring SAP applications into the mobile space.
“In order to successfully control the move towards mobility, organisations need to have comprehensive management and security features for smartphone and tablet computers. The Sybase partnership adds to our existing relationships with other key mobile providers and broadens our ability to bring key application data to customers – wherever and whenever they need it.”
Sybase focuses exclusively on managing and mobilising information from the data centre to the point of action. Sybase Afaria is a device management platform that includes over-the-air device provisioning, inventory and configuration, and software deployment and updating.
Mobile security features include data backup, power-on password protection, data-on-device encryption, mobile remote control, as well as anti-virus and firewall protection.
Sybase also markets a highly optimised analytics server designed to deliver faster results for mission critical business intelligence, data warehouse and reporting solutions.
