Oxygen appointed to New South Wales government IT service provider panel

Oxygen has been appointed to the New South Wales (NSW) Government's panel of software solution providers.

Oxygen CEO, Mike T. Smith, says being selected to join the panel for the provision of ICT services for the whole of NSW Government is a significant win for the company and will provide substantial opportunities for developing new business over the next two years.

“We successfully tendered to be one of a core group of SAP system integrators, following the government’s review of the original panel that was established four years ago. Our reputation as a trusted implementation partner with a long track record of successful and efficiently run projects was critical to this achievement.”

Oxygen has previously successfully completed a number of SAP projects for various NSW Government agencies including the Roads and Traffic Authority, the then Department of Commerce (now Department of Services, Technology and Administration), Department of Industry and Investment and NSW Businesslink.

The NSW Government Selected Application Software (GSAS) panel establishes contracts for the provision of corporate service software systems to the NSW public sector and covers a range of application areas including finance, HR and payroll, records and information management as well as integrated management solutions.

Smith says Oxygen’s depth of industry experience, together with its expertise across the SAP application portfolio positions it perfectly to understand the business outcomes the NSW government is aiming for.

“Oxygen has a strong reputation and a well resourced presence in Australia. We are ideally positioned to design and implement solutions which will allow NSW Government to reduce cost overheads and improve service delivery to front line staff.”

The guiding principles of the GSAS panel include improving the government’s return on investment in software and achieving better economies of scale. In 2009 the NSW Government announced major plans to rationalise its structure and improve service delivery, including its intention to amalgamate its 150 agencies into 13 clusters. Fundamental to the reform is the need to consolidate the corporate and shared services activities across all government bodies.

“Oxygen’s mission is to liberate customers from the complexity of their SAP systems so they can transact business in a streamlined and optimised way,” says Smith. “We are looking forward to the challenge of helping the NSW government consolidate its software application infrastructure and contribute to the development of core, best practice functionality within, and between, its various agencies.”

Oxygen was joined by fellow SAP providers Epi-Use, Stream Technologies and Articulate on its successful bid and will partner with them to offer in-depth design, implementation and training services. Epi-Use is a specialist SAP HR and payroll provider. Stream Technology is an expert SAP technology and integration company, while Articulate provides change management and training services.

“Supported by our specialist partners, we will be able to offer fully coordinated, end-to-end SAP solution offerings, which will be fundamental to streamlining and standardising the provision of software applications at NSW.”
