More Australian Federal Government work fuels growth of Oxygen’s Canberra office
Oxygen’s general manager of sales, Phil Curtis, says the company is partnering with SAP Australia on the implementation project at the Department of Finance and will implement an SAP ERP 6.0 solution which includes finance, new GL, procurement and portal modules. The applications will be integrated with existing systems at Finance using SAP’s Process Integtation solution (PI).
“We were selected, in conjunction with SAP, based on our successful track record in implementing solutions at other Federal agencies,” says Curtis. “The Department of Finance needs to move off its existing legacy product and onto a new technology platform to accommodate current and future public sector reforms planned by the Australian Government.”
The Australian Government has a major and ambitious public sector reform agenda and the Department of Finance is the central agency responsible for advising on and implementing many of the key Government priorities in this area.
Curtis reports that Oxygen is continuing its work at OneSteel, Australia's largest manufacturer and distributor of steel products, where it is helping the company implement an integrated business planning solution based on SAP’s Business Intelligence functionality.
“We are also continuing to support Australian dairy company, National Foods, as it undertakes a staged roll-out of its Total Business Transformation project,” says Curtis. The company has recently gone live with SAP ERP across its cheese and milk operations.
Curtis says Oxygen’s Australian market prospects remain buoyant with a number of large projects on the horizon. Oxygen’s recent success in securing Federal Government work has seen it add additional resources to its Canberra operation.
“We have a strong list of work underway in Canberra including projects for the Australian Crime Commission, an SAP ERP 6.0 upgrade at the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST), and for the Australian Federal Police. We have also recently commenced work for Medicare, the administrator of the Government’s universal health insurance programme.”
