What is a Values Based Organisation (VBO)?
A VBO has people at its core. It is clear about what it stands for, where it is heading and what it does. It deliberately creates its own future. At Oxygen, the way we work together and make decisions is open and understandable to everyone. The Values provide a framework for the way in which we interact with our customers, each other and the world around us - regardless of expertise, background or culture.
In the Beginning…
Oxygen committed to becoming a VBO in 2003 when the organisation sought to develop an adventurous and courageous culture in order to achieve business growth; a place where people were empowered and heading in the same direction; Oxygen needed to become unstoppable.
To help achieve this, the company needed a strong vision and robust strategies and a set of Values that provided a framework for the way they interacted with each other and the world around them. To help develop this framework, Oxygen chose a strategic partner The Zone to guide them on the journey. And what a journey it has been so far!
Our Values
Oxygen has seven fundamental values that provide a framework for us. Simply put, Values are the priorities and preferences which we express how we choose to work together. Oxygen’s Values are about personal responsibility and empowering us to work more effectively and collaboratively across teams to enable us to deliver growth and greater results.
Values in Action
As a VBO we choose to live and breathe and challenge ourselves with our Values. Our Values compliment the Oxygen brand experience and positively differentiate us from our competitors; our Values make us unique and have a positive impact on both our customers and our partners. In a VBO we understand that the way we act internally has a direct impact on how we are with our customers. By empowering our people 'to live', we will deliver our brand promise - 'let business live'.
